Flight Network released its inaugural list naming the Top 50 small towns in Canada and Inuvik made the cut.
Highlighted by the Dempster Highway, Mackenzie Delta, Ice Roads and the annual Muskrat Jamboree and Reindeer Crossing, Inuvik expertly combines a welcoming small town atmosphere with the expected amenities available somewhere not located 200 km north of the Arctic Circle.
With the Canadian dollar continuing to decrease, these 50 small towns would be a great option to experience the road less travelled to the more quaint places this country has to offer, Flight Network stated in a press release.
"With the low Canadian dollar, Canadians are considering more domestic travel options instead of international or US destinations," said Neil Bhapkar, Flight Network Chief Marketing Officer. "This list will inspire travel to the small Canadian towns on our list, where Canadians can get more bang for their buck."
Jody Robbins, travel writer for the Calgary Herald and Huffington Post, explains that visiting small towns is infinitely more interesting and you can avoid the crowds.
"There's always quirky characters easily found within the local coffee shop or the town pub in Canada's small towns."
